New! Plugin Severity Now Using CVSS v3

The calculated severity for Plugins has been updated to use CVSS v3 by default. Plugins that do not have a CVSS v3 score will fall back to CVSS v2 for calculating severity. Severity display preferences can be toggled in the settings dropdown.

The remote web application server is affected by a denial of service vulnerability.

The IBM WebSphere Application Server running on the remote host is 7.x through, 8.x through, 8.5.x prior to, or 9.x prior to It is, therefore, affected by a denial of service vulnerability. This is triggered by sending a specially-crafted request. A remote attacker can exploit this vulnerability to cause the server to consume all available CPU resources.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Update to IBM WebSphere Application Server version, or later. Alternatively, upgrade to the minimal fix pack levels required by the interim fix and then apply Interim Fix PH41676.
