Debian DSA-5029-1 : sogo - security update

high Nessus Plugin ID 156259

Synopsis

The remote Debian host is missing a security-related update.

Description

The remote Debian 10 / 11 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the dsa-5029 advisory.

- SOGo 2.x before 2.4.1 and 3.x through 5.x before 5.1.1 does not validate the signatures of any SAML assertions it receives. Any actor with network access to the deployment could impersonate users when SAML is the authentication method. (Only versions after 2.0.5a are affected.) (CVE-2021-33054)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade the sogo packages.

For the stable distribution (bullseye), this problem has been fixed in version 5.0.1-4+deb11u1.
