Synopsis

The remote Ubuntu host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote Ubuntu 20.04 LTS / 21.04 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the USN-5198-1 advisory.

- A flaw was found in htmldoc in v1.9.12 and before. Null pointer dereference in file_extension(),in file.c may lead to execute arbitrary code and denial of service. (CVE-2021-23180)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected htmldoc and / or htmldoc-common packages.
