Synopsis

The remote OracleVM host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The remote OracleVM system is missing necessary patches to address security updates:

 - A security issue was found in Linux kernel's OverlayFS subsystem where a local attacker who has the ability to mount the TmpFS filesystem with OverlayFS can abuse a logic bug in the overlayfs code which can inadvertently reveal files hidden in the original mount. (CVE-2021-3732)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected kernel-uek / kernel-uek-firmware packages.
