The remote CentOS host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The remote CentOS Linux 8 host has packages installed that are affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the CESA-2021:4517 advisory.

 - vim: heap-based buffer overflow in utf_ptr2char() in mbyte.c (CVE-2021-3778)

 - vim: use-after-free in nv_replace() in normal.c (CVE-2021-3796)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages.
