EulerOS 2.0 SP8 : qt5-qtbase (EulerOS-SA-2021-2642)

Synopsis

The remote EulerOS host is missing a security update.

Description

According to the versions of the qt5-qtbase packages installed, the EulerOS installation on the remote host is affected by the following vulnerabilities :

 An issue has been fixed in Qt versions 5.14.0 where QPluginLoader attempts to load plugins relative to the working directory, allowing attackers to execute arbitrary code via crafted files.(CVE-2020-24742)

 Qt5 versions up to qt 5.12.7, qt 5.14.1, qt 5.15.0 allows plugins to be loaded from current working directory, this can lead to compromised plugins to loaded leading to possible arbitrary code execution.(CVE-2020-24741)

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the EulerOS qt5-qtbase security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected qt5-qtbase packages.
