Synopsis

The version of Adobe Character Animator installed on the remote Windows host is missing a vendor-supplied patch.

Description

The version of Adobe Character Animator 2021 installed on the remote Windows host is prior to 4.4.2. It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities including the following:

 - An arbitrary code execution vulnerability exists in Adobe Character Animator. An unauthenticated, local attacker can exploit this to bypass authentication and execute arbitrary commands. (CVE-2021-40763, CVE-2021-40764, CVE-2021-40765)

 - A NULL pointer dereference flaw exists in Adobe Character Animator. An unauthenticated, local attacker can exploit this to cause the application to stop responding. (CVE-2021-40762, CVE-2021-40768)

 - A memory access flaw exists in Adobe Character Animator. An unauthenticated, local attacker can exploit this to cause the application to stop responding. (CVE-2021-40767)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Adobe Character Animator 2021 version 4.4, Adobe Character Animator 2022 version 22.0, or later.
