high Nessus Plugin ID 153891

Synopsis

The remote host is affected by an privilege escalation vulnerability.

Description

The remote host is running a version of McAfee Drive Encryption prior to 7.3.0 HF1. It is, therefore, affected by a privilege escalation vulnerability in a Windows system driver that allows a local, non-admin user to gain elevated system privileges via exploiting an unutilized memory buffer.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update to McAfee Drive Encryption 7.3.0 HF1 or later
