Adobe Photoshop installed on remote Windows host is affected by a vulnerability.


The version of Adobe Photoshop installed on the remote Windows host is prior to 21.2.12/22.5.1. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the apsb21-84 advisory.

- Adobe Photoshop versions 21.2.11 (and earlier) and 22.5 (and earlier) are affected by a Buffer Overflow vulnerability when parsing a specially crafted SVG file. An unauthenticated attacker could leverage this vulnerability to achieve arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user. Exploitation of this issue requires user interaction in that a victim must open a malicious file. (CVE-2021-40709)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.


Upgrade to Adobe Photoshop version 21.2.12/22.5.1 or later.
