Synopsis

The remote Debian host is missing a security-related update.

Description

The remote Debian 9 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the dla-2754 advisory.

- An XML external entity (XXE) injection in PyWPS before 4.4.5 allows an attacker to view files on the application server filesystem by assigning a path to the entity. OWSLib 0.24.1 may also be affected.
(CVE-2021-39371)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade the pywps packages.

For Debian 9 stretch, this problem has been fixed in version 4.0.0-3+deb9u1.
