Synopsis

The remote device is missing a vendor-supplied security patch.

Description

The version of Junos OS installed on the remote host is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the JSA11187 advisory.

- An uncontrolled resource consumption vulnerability in Juniper Networks Junos OS on QFX5000 Series and EX4600 Series switches allows an attacker, which is sending large amounts of legitimate traffic destined to the device, to cause Interchassis Control Protocol (ICCP) interruptions leading to an unstable control connection between the MC-LAG nodes which can in turn lead to traffic loss. (CVE-2021-0285)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Apply the relevant Junos software release referenced in Juniper advisory JSA11187
