F5 Networks BIG-IP : TMM vulnerability (K05043394)

high Nessus Plugin ID 152819

Synopsis

The remote device is missing a vendor-supplied security patch.

Description

The version of F5 Networks BIG-IP installed on the remote host is prior to 16.0.1.2 / 16.1.0. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the K05043394 advisory.

- On version 16.0.x before 16.0.1.2, when a BIG-IP ASM and DataSafe profile are configured on a virtual server, undisclosed requests can cause the Traffic Management Microkernel (TMM) to terminate. Note:
Software versions which have reached End of Technical Support (EoTS) are not evaluated. (CVE-2021-23036)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to one of the non-vulnerable versions listed in the F5 Solution K05043394.
