Adobe Media Encoder < 15.4.1 Arbitrary Code Execution (APSB21-70)

high Nessus Plugin ID 152667

Synopsis

The Adobe Media Encoder installed on the remote Windows host is affected by an arbitrary code execution vulnerability

Description

The version of Adobe Media Encoder installed on the remote Windows host is prior to 15.4.1. It is, therefore, affected by an arbitrary code execution vulnerability due to invalid memory management. An unauthenticated, local attacker can exploit this to execute arbitrary commands on an affected host.

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade Adobe Media Encoder to version 15.4.1 or later.
