Synopsis

A PDF viewer installed on the remote Windows host is affected by multiple vulnerabilities

Description

According to its version, the Foxit Reader application installed on the remote Windows host is prior to 11.0.1. It is, therefore affected by multiple arbitrary code execution vulnerabilities due to a use-after-free flaw in the JavaScript engine. An authenticated, local attacker can exploit this by persuading a victim to open a specially-crafted PDF file, to execute arbitrary code on the system.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Foxit PDF Reader version 11.0.1 or later
