Synopsis

Adobe Illustrator installed on remote Windows host is affected by multiple vulnerabilities

Description

The version of Adobe Illustrator on the remote Windows hosts is prior to 25.3. It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities including the following:
 - Multiple critical out-of-bounds write vulnerabilities exist in Adobe Illustrator which could lead to arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user. (CVE-2021-28591, CVE-2021-28592)

 - A use after free vulnerability exists in Adobe Illustrator. An unauthenticated, local attacker can exploit this to read arbitrary files on an affected system. (CVE-2021-28593)

 - An access of memory location after end of buffer vulnerability exists in Adobe Illustrator which could lead to arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user. (CVE-2021-36009)

 - An out of bounds read vulnerability exists in Adobe Illustrator. An unauthenticated, local attacker can exploit this to read arbitrary files on an affected system. (CVE-2021-36010)

 - An OS command injection vulnerability exists in Adobe Illustrator which could lead to arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user. (CVE-2021-36011) Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Adobe Illustrator version 25.3.0 or later.
