Synopsis

The remote device is missing a vendor-supplied security patch.

Description

The version of F5 Networks BIG-IP installed on the remote host is prior to 15.1.3.1 / 16.1.0. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the K08503505 advisory.

- On version 7.2.1.x before 7.2.1.3 and 7.1.x before 7.1.9.9 Update 1, the BIG-IP Edge Client Windows Installer Service's temporary folder has weak file and folder permissions. Note: Software versions which have reached End of Technical Support (EoTS) are not evaluated. (CVE-2021-23022)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to one of the non-vulnerable versions listed in the F5 Solution K08503505.
