IBM Spectrum Protect Plus OpenSSH Remote Command Injection

high Nessus Plugin ID 151155

Synopsis

A web application running on the remote host is affected by a remote command injection vulnerability.

Description

The IBM Spectrum Protect Plus running on the remote host is affected by a remote command injection vulnerability due to improper input validation in the remote function in scp.c. An unauthenticated, remote attacker can exploit this, by using backtick characters in the destination argument, to execute arbitrary commands on the system.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade The IBM Spectrum Protect Plus to 10.1.6 or later.
