Synopsis

The remote Oracle Linux host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote Oracle Linux 8 host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the ELSA-2021-1686 advisory.

 - In p2p_copy_client_info of p2p.c, there is a possible out of bounds write due to a missing bounds check.
 This could lead to remote code execution if the target device is performing a Wi-Fi Direct search, with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation.Product:

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected wpa_supplicant package.
