Synopsis

The remote CentOS host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote CentOS Linux 8 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the CESA-2021:1702 advisory.

- brotli: buffer overflow when input chunk is larger than 2GiB (CVE-2020-8927)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected brotli, brotli-devel and / or python3-brotli packages.
