The remote CentOS host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote CentOS Linux 8 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the CESA-2021:1597 advisory.

 - libxml2: Buffer overflow vulnerability in xmlEncodeEntitiesInternal() in entities.c (CVE-2020-24977)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected libxml2, libxml2-devel and / or python3-libxml2 packages.
