A web browser installed on the remote macOS host is affected by multiple vulnerabilities.

Description

The version of Google Chrome installed on the remote macOS host is prior to 90.0.4430.212. It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the 2021_05_stable-channel-update-for-desktop advisory.

 - Use after free in Tab Strip in Google Chrome prior to 90.0.4430.212 allowed an attacker who convinced a user to install a malicious extension to potentially exploit heap corruption via a crafted HTML page.

 - Incorrect security UI in Web App Installs in Google Chrome on Android prior to 90.0.4430.212 allowed an attacker who convinced a user to install a web application to inject scripts or HTML into a privileged page via a crafted HTML page. (CVE-2021-30506)

 - Inappropriate implementation in Offline in Google Chrome on Android prior to 90.0.4430.212 allowed a remote attacker who had compromised the renderer process to bypass site isolation via a crafted HTML page.

 - Heap buffer overflow in Media Feeds in Google Chrome prior to 90.0.4430.212 allowed an attacker who convinced a user to enable certain features in Chrome to potentially exploit heap corruption via a crafted HTML page. (CVE-2021-30508)

 - Out of bounds write in Tab Strip in Google Chrome prior to 90.0.4430.212 allowed an attacker who convinced a user to install a malicious extension to perform an out of bounds memory write via a crafted HTML page and a crafted Chrome extension. (CVE-2021-30509)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Google Chrome version 90.0.4430.212 or later.
