Synopsis

The remote Ubuntu host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote Ubuntu 16.04 LTS / 18.04 LTS / 20.04 LTS / 20.10 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the USN-4921-1 advisory.

- A flaw was found in libcaca v0.99.beta19. A buffer overflow issue in caca_resize function in libcaca/caca/canvas.c may lead to local execution of arbitrary code in the user context. (CVE-2021-3410)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected caca-utils, libcaca-dev and / or libcaca0 packages.
