ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus < 11.2 Build 11200 Unauthenticated Stored XSS

medium Nessus Plugin ID 148429
New! Plugin Severity Now Using CVSS v3

The calculated severity for Plugins has been updated to use CVSS v3 by default. Plugins that do not have a CVSS v3 score will fall back to CVSS v2 for calculating severity. Severity display preferences can be toggled in the settings dropdown.

The remote web server hosts an application that is affected by a cross-site scripting vulnerability.

A stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability exists in the XML processing logic of asset discovery. By sending a crafted HTTP POST request to /discoveryServlet/WsDiscoveryServlet, a remote, unauthenticated attacker can create an asset containing malicious JavaScript. When an administrator views this asset, the JavaScript will execute. This can be exploited to perform authenticated application actions on behalf of the administrator user.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Upgrade to ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus version 11.2 build 11200 or later.
