Synopsis

The SSH server running on the remote host is affected by a double-free error.

Description

ssh-agent in OpenSSH 8.2 < 8.5 has a double free that may be relevant in a few less-common scenarios, such as unconstrained agent-socket access on a legacy operating system, or the forwarding of an agent to an attacker-controlled host.

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to OpenSSH version 8.5 or later.
