Synopsis

The remote Ubuntu host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote Ubuntu 18.04 LTS / 20.04 LTS / 20.10 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the USN-4733-1 advisory.

- autoar-extractor.c in GNOME gnome-autoar through 0.2.4, as used by GNOME Shell, Nautilus, and other software, allows Directory Traversal during extraction because it lacks a check of whether a file's parent is a symlink to a directory outside of the intended extraction location. (CVE-2020-36241)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages.
