F5 Networks BIG-IP : BIG-IP AFM vulnerability (K76518456)

medium Nessus Plugin ID 146402

Synopsis

The remote device is missing a vendor-supplied security patch.

Description

The version of F5 Networks BIG-IP installed on the remote host is prior to 13.1.3.5 / 14.1.3.1 / 15.1.1 / 16.0.0. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the K76518456 advisory.

- On BIG-IP AFM version 15.1.x before 15.1.1, 14.1.x before 14.1.3.1, and 13.1.x before 13.1.3.5, authenticated users accessing the Configuration utility for AFM are vulnerable to a cross-site scripting attack if they attempt to access a maliciously-crafted URL. Note: Software versions which have reached End of Software Development (EoSD) are not evaluated. (CVE-2021-22983)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to one of the non-vulnerable versions listed in the F5 Solution K76518456.
