Synopsis

The remote CentOS host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The remote CentOS Linux 8 host has packages installed that are affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the CESA-2020:1636 advisory.

 - libsndfile: stack-based buffer overflow in sndfile-deinterleave utility (CVE-2018-13139)

 - libsndfile: buffer over-read in the function i2alaw_array in alaw.c (CVE-2018-19662)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected libsndfile and / or libsndfile-devel packages.
