Synopsis

The remote CentOS host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The remote CentOS Linux 8 host has packages installed that are affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the CESA-2020:0920 advisory.

 - libvncserver: HandleCursorShape() integer overflow resulting in heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-2019-15690)

 - libvncserver: integer overflow and heap-based buffer overflow in libvncclient/cursor.c in HandleCursorShape function (CVE-2019-20788)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected libvncserver and / or libvncserver-devel packages.
