Synopsis

The remote CentOS host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The remote CentOS Linux 8 host has a package installed that is affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the CESA-2019:2798 advisory.

 - patch: do_ed_script in pch.c does not block strings beginning with a ! character (CVE-2018-20969)

 - patch: OS shell command injection when processing crafted patch files (CVE-2019-13638)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected patch package.
