Synopsis

The remote Amazon Linux 2 host is missing a security update.

Description

The version of targetcli installed on the remote host is prior to 2.1.53-1. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the ALAS2-2021-1591 advisory.

- Open-iSCSI targetcli-fb through 2.1.52 has weak permissions for /etc/target (and for the backup directory and backup files). (CVE-2020-13867)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Run 'yum update targetcli' to update your system.
