Synopsis

The remote Amazon Linux 2 host is missing a security update.

Description

The version of python-rtslib installed on the remote host is prior to 2.1.74-1. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the ALAS2-2021-1589 advisory.

- Open-iSCSI rtslib-fb through 2.1.72 has weak permissions for /etc/target/saveconfig.json because shutil.copyfile (instead of shutil.copy) is used, and thus permissions are not preserved. (CVE-2020-14019)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Run 'yum update python-rtslib' to update your system.
