Synopsis

Adobe Photoshop installed on remote macOS or Mac OS X host is affected by a vulnerability.

Description

The version of Adobe Photoshop installed on the remote macOS or Mac OS X host is prior to 22.1.1. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the apsb21-01 advisory.

 - Adobe Photoshop version 22.1 (and earlier) is affected by a heap buffer overflow vulnerability when handling a specially crafted font file. Successful exploitation could lead to arbitrary code execution.
 Exploitation of this issue requires user interaction in that a victim must open a malicious file.
 (CVE-2021-21006)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Adobe Photoshop version 22.1.1 or later.
