Synopsis

The remote Amazon Linux AMI host is missing a security update.

Description

The version of qemu-kvm installed on the remote host is prior to 1.5.3-156.25. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the ALAS-2021-1467 advisory.

 - libslirp 4.0.0, as used in QEMU 4.1.0, has a use-after-free in ip_reass in ip_input.c. (CVE-2019-15890)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Run 'yum update qemu-kvm' to update your system.
