Synopsis

A security management application running on the remote host is affected by multiple cross-site scripting vulnerabilities

Description

The instance of McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator installed on the remote host is affected by the following cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities:

- Cross-Site Scripting vulnerability in McAfee ePolicy Orchistrator (ePO) prior to 5.10.9 Update 9 allows administrators to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via parameter values for 'syncPointList' not being correctly sanitixed. (CVE-2020-7317)

- Cross-Site Scripting vulnerability in McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) prior to 5.10.9 Update 9 allows administrators to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via multiple parameters where the administrator's entries were not correctly sanitized. Note that this does not impact 5.9.x versions. (CVE-2020-7318)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version

Solution

Upgrade to McAfee ePO version 5.10.0 Update 9
