Synopsis

The remote Xen hypervisor installation is missing a security update.

Description

A denial of service (DoS) vulnerability exists in Xen server due to missing error handling in MISC_ENABLE MSR. A malicious PV guest administrator can trigger Xen to crash, resulting in a host DoS.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Apply the appropriate patch or workaround according to the vendor advisory.
