Synopsis

The remote device is missing a vendor-supplied security patch.

Description

In BIG-IP APM, on systems running more than one TMM instance, authenticated VPN users may consume excessive resources by sending specially crafted malicious traffic over the tunnel.(CVE-2020-27724)

Impact

This vulnerabilitymay cause the Traffic Management Microkernel (TMM) to stop responding, leading to disruption in services and a failover event in high availability (HA) systems.

Solution

Upgrade to one of the non-vulnerable versions listed in the F5 Solution K04518313.
