JFrog Artifactory < 7.10.5 Multiple Vulnerabilities

high Nessus Plugin ID 144301

Synopsis

Determines if the remote JFrog Artifactory installation is affected by multiple vulnerabilities

Description

According to its self-reported version number, the version of JFrog Artifactory installed on the remote machine is prior to 7.10.5. It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities:

- CiphertextHeader.java in Cryptacular 1.2.3, as used in Apereo CAS and other products, allows attackers to trigger excessive memory allocation during a decode operation, because the nonce array length associated with 'new byte' may depend on untrusted input within the header of encoded data. (CVE-2020-7226)
- The ASN.1 parser in Bouncy Castle Crypto (aka BC Java) 1.63 can trigger a large attempted memory allocation, and resultant OutOfMemoryError error, via crafted ASN.1 data. This is fixed in 1.64. (CVE-2019-17359)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update to JFrog Artifactory 7.10.5, or later.
