Synopsis

The remote web server is affected by a vulnerability.

Description

The version of IBM HTTP Server running on the remote host is affected by a vulnerability. The log_cookie function in mod_log_config.c in the mod_log_config module in the Apache HTTP Server before 2.4.8 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (segmentation fault and daemon crash) via a crafted cookie that is not properly handled during truncation.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to IBM HTTP Server version 8.5.5.3, 8.0.0.9, 7.0.0.33 or later. Alternatively, upgrade to the minimal fix pack level required by the interim fix and then apply Interim Fix PI13028.
