The remote web server is affected by a vulnerability.

Description

The version of IBM HTTP Server running on the remote host is affected by a vulnerability. IBM GSKit 7.x before 7.0.4.48 and 8.x before 8.0.50.16, as used in IBM Security Directory Server (ISDS) and Tivoli Directory Server (TDS), allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (application crash or hang) via a malformed X.509 certificate chain.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to IBM HTTP Server version 8.5.5.2, 8.0.0.9, 7.0.0.33 or later. Alternatively, upgrade to the minimal fix pack level required by the interim fix and then apply Interim Fix PI09443.
