Synopsis

The remote Oracle Linux host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote Oracle Linux 6 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the ELSA-2020-5129 advisory.

- Net-SNMP through 5.7.3 has Improper Privilege Management because SNMP WRITE access to the EXTEND MIB provides the ability to run arbitrary commands as root. (CVE-2020-15862)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages.
