Synopsis

A web browser installed on the remote Windows host is affected by multiple vulnerabilities.

Description

The version of Google Chrome installed on the remote Windows host is prior to 86.0.4240.198. It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the 2020_11_stable-channel-update-for-desktop_11 advisory.

- Use after free in site isolation in Google Chrome prior to 86.0.4240.198 allowed a remote attacker who had compromised the renderer process to potentially perform a sandbox escape via a crafted HTML page.
(CVE-2020-16017)

- Inappropriate implementation in V8 in Google Chrome prior to 86.0.4240.198 allowed a remote attacker to potentially exploit heap corruption via a crafted HTML page. (CVE-2020-16013)

Solution

Upgrade to Google Chrome version 86.0.4240.198 or later.
