Synopsis

The remote web application server is affected by a cross-site scripting vulnerability

Description

The IBM WebSphere Application Server running on the remote host is version 8.0.0.x prior to 8.0.0.11 or 8.5.0.x prior to 8.5.5.6. It is, therefore, affected by a cross-site scripting vulnerability in the Dojo Toolkits subcomponent due to improper sanitization of user-supplied input. An unauthenticated, remote attacker can exploit this using a specially- crafted URL, to execute script in a victim's web browser.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to IBM WebSphere Application Server 8.0.0.11, 8.5.5.6, or later. Alternatively, upgrade to the minimal fix pack levels required by the interim fix and then apply Interim Fix PI33012.
