Synopsis

The remote Amazon Linux 2 host is missing a security update.

Description

The version of tested product installed on the remote host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the ALAS2-2020-1540 advisory.

- Openwsman, versions up to and including 2.6.9, are vulnerable to infinite loop in process_connection() when parsing specially crafted HTTP requests. A remote, unauthenticated attacker can exploit this vulnerability by sending malicious HTTP request to cause denial of service to openwsman server.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Run 'yum update openwsman' to update your system.
