Synopsis

The remote device is missing a vendor-supplied security patch.

Description

According to its self-reported version number, the remote Juniper Junos device is affected by a memory leak within the EVPN protocol. It, Therefore, could allow for a adjacent unauthenticated attacker to crash the EVPN protocol with specifically crafted BGP packets.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Apply the relevant Junos software release referenced in Juniper advisory JSA11075.
