IBM WebSphere Application Server 9.0.x < DoS (CVE-2017-12624)

medium Nessus Plugin ID 141563

The remote web application server is affected by a denial of service vulnerability

The IBM WebSphere Application Server running on the remote host is version 9.0.x prior to It is, therefore, affected by a denial of service (DoS) vulnerability in the Apache CXF subcomponent. An unauthenticated, remote attacker can exploit this, by using a specially crafted message attachment header, in order to cause the JAX-RS service to stop responding.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Upgrade to IBM WebSphere Application Server, or later. Alternatively, upgrade to the minimal fix pack levels required by the interim fix and then apply Interim Fix PI92492.
