Synopsis

The remote Oracle Linux host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote Oracle Linux 7 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the ELSA-2020-3922 advisory.

 - An issue was discovered in libsndfile 1.0.28. There is a buffer over-read in the function i2alaw_array in alaw.c that will lead to a denial of service. (CVE-2018-19662)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected libsndfile, libsndfile-devel and / or libsndfile-utils packages.
