Synopsis

The remote Ubuntu host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote Ubuntu 16.04 LTS host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the USN-4513-1 advisory.

- An issue was discovered in apng2gif 1.7. There is an integer overflow resulting in a heap-based buffer over-read, related to the load_apng function and the imagesize variable. (CVE-2017-6960)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected apng2gif package.
