Description

The remote Ubuntu 16.04 LTS host has a package installed that is affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the USN-4499-1 advisory.

- XMFile::read in XMFile.cpp in milkyplay in MilkyTracker 1.02.00 has a heap-based buffer overflow.
(CVE-2019-14464)

- LoaderXM::load in LoaderXM.cpp in milkyplay in MilkyTracker 1.02.00 has a stack-based buffer overflow.
(CVE-2019-14496)

- ModuleEditor::convertInstrument in tracker/ModuleEditor.cpp in MilkyTracker 1.02.00 has a heap-based buffer overflow. (CVE-2019-14497)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected milkytracker package.
