Synopsis

An application and VM management software on the remote host is affected by a cross-site scripting vulnerability.

Description

The version of VMWare App Volumes installed on the remote host is 2.x prior to 2.18.6, or 4.x prior to 4.1.0.57 (2006).
It is, therefore, affected by a cross-site scripting vulnerability. A malicious actor with access to create and edit applications or create storage groups, may be able to inject malicious script which will be executed by a victim's browser when viewing.

Solution

Upgrade to VMware App Volumes 2.18.6, 4.1.0.57 (2006) or later.
