New! Vulnerability Priority Rating (VPR)
Tenable calculates a dynamic VPR for every vulnerability. VPR combines vulnerability information with threat intelligence and machine learning algorithms to predict which vulnerabilities are most likely to be exploited in attacks. Read more about what VPR is and how it's different from CVSS.
VPR Score: 3.6
SynopsisThe remote device is missing a vendor-supplied security patch.
DescriptionAccording to the self-reported version of Junos OS on the remote device, it is affected by a denial of service (DoS) vulnerability due to how it processes a specific UPDATE for an EBGP peer. An unauthenticated, remote attacker can exploit this, by sending a crafted UPDATE, in order to crash the routing process daemon (RPD) and cause a restart.
Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.
